Life is a Journey

Kernersville Little Theatre’s 39th season will kick off in September at Körner’s Folly.  Join The Marvelous Wonderettes on a journey to the past.  We first meet Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy at their high school prom in 1958, and then glimpse their lives again at their 10 year reunion.  Watch these ladies explore their hopes and dreams with songs of the 50s and 60s.  Old favorites like “It’s My Party,” “Respect,” “Leader of the Pack,” and many others will take you back to a simpler time when apple and blackberry were each just a kind of fruit.

The second show of the season takes place in November at the James Fitzpatrick Auditorium in Kernersville Elementary School.  Journey to a far off land in The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe.  KLT will recreate the magic of the land of Narnia, the mystery of Aslan, the great lion, his struggle with the White Witch, and the adventures of four children who inadvertently wander from an old wardrobe into the exciting, never-to-be-forgotten Narnia.  This is a special production for the entire family.  KLT is excited to once again “Bring a Book to Life” in this classic story of faith and courage and the triumph of good over evil.

February 2016 will take you on a journey from tears to laughter with the production of Exit Laughing.  When the biggest highlight in your life for the past 30 years has been your weekly bridge night out with the “girls,” what do you do when one of your foursome inconveniently dies?  If you are Connie, Leona, and Millie, three southern ladies from Birmingham, you do the most daring thing you have ever done.  You “borrow” the ashes from the funeral home for one last card game!  This leads to the wildest, most exciting night of their lives involving a police raid, angst ridden college daughters, mysterious packages, and a whole new way of looking at all the fun you can have when you are truly living.  The uplifting message of this play shows us all that it is never too late — or too early, for that matter — to seize the day.

To wrap up the season, KLT premiers Leap of Faith in June 2016.  This play allows you to journey to a small town with big love and big dreams.  Love will get you every time.  That is what one charismatic con-man is about to find out.  The “Reverend” Jonas Nightingale, an electrifying performer and con artist, is travelling with his ministry when his bus breaks down in a small Kansas town.  The part-time reverend, and full-time crook, pitches a tent and invites the locals to a revival.  The sheriff, a woman named Marla McGowan, is determined to stop Jonas from separating the townspeople from their money, and Jonas’ real challenge arises when he meets the sheriff and her son.  A gospel honky-tonk filled show, come see what happens when love forces an ultimate cynic to take a real Leap of Faith.

We hope you will join us on this journey by purchasing season tickets.  Our season tickets are in a flex pass format and give you the opportunity to save over door ticket prices.  Each Season Flex Pass purchased provides you with four tickets.  Each ticket is good for any of our shows, and in any combination.
