The arrival of fall means all kinds of fun activities in the Triad area. Not only is it one of the most beautiful times of year due to our region’s stunning fall colors, it is also an exciting season full of special festivals and celebrations. Pumpkin patches, hay rides, corn mazes, trick-or-treating, fun runs, Oktoberfest, and more!
Do not miss your chance to have an amazing fall in our town. Here are some upcoming events to help plan your days ahead:
Ready, Set, Go! Gather your family and friends and get your little pumpkins to the Kernersville Pumpkin Run 5K & 1-Mile Walk. The best season deserves an equally great race! Whether you run or walk the course, you will enjoy all the sights and sounds of fall. All ages are invited to walk or run the 5K or 1-mile course that starts at the Town Hall and circles through several adjacent neighborhoods. This event promotes health and fitness while having fun! After crossing the finish line, celebrate with friends while cooling down with a nice cup of hot cocoa. Dress in your best Halloween costumes and enter for a chance to win prizes for adults, children, and dogs following the race. The Kernersville Pumpkin Run will be held Saturday, October 21 at the Town Hall for what promises to be the most fun and unusual Halloween event your family has ever experienced! Registration is now open at www.kvparks.com, early bird registration ends October 15. Registration includes a spooky race day t-shirt, goodie bag (except for ages 4 and under), ages 5-13 also receive a medal of completion!
Come enjoy a variety of flavors for a great day of eating, music, and family fun at the Harvest Food Truck Challenge. The foodie fest will take place on Saturday, October 21 from 11:00am-5:00pm, following the Pumpkin Run in the Town Hall parking lot area. Vendors will give us their best dish and our panel of taste-testing judges will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cash prizes. Enjoy live music by Exit 180 Band (Noon-2pm) and The Brickhouse Band (2:30-4:30pm). If you are looking for a great way to spend the afternoon, are a food lover eager to taste a delicious mix of the best food trucks in our area, or are a music fan looking to experience the best sounds around…the Harvest Food Truck Challenge is where to find it all. We are proud to announce all proceeds go to the Kernersville Sister City Association. Our mission is to facilitate food and arts tourism and create more vibrancy for our town. Stay up-to-date on all participating food trucks attending the event at www.kvparks.com.
Calling all goblins, vampires, superheroes, princesses, gypsies, and everything in between! Come to Downtown Kernersville Tuesday, October 31 and enjoy the annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat event. We will have trick-or-treating at local downtown businesses and we will have ghoulish fun, music, and more from 6:00-8:00pm. The Downtown Trick-or-Treat is a public service provided by downtown merchants, Kernersville Parks & Recreation, Kernersville Police Departments, and the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce. Downtown Trick-or-Treat is an alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating for families. Children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Watch the streets of downtown Kernersville become a Halloween Haven! Families are encouraged to come out early to enjoy downtown before the trick-or-treating begins. Dine at a restaurant or shop in a local store before the fun starts! This is a free event and a great way for merchants and the community to come together in a safe environment. Do not miss out on all of the fun this season has to offer!
