The season is upon us! There is so much to be thankful for in 2017, not to mention all the things to do in December in Kernersville. Whether walking, strolling, running, or driving along the streets of Kernersville during the holiday season, the experience is magical. Blinkie® lights adorn the streets, holiday music fills the air and smiles are everywhere.

We will kick it all off on Saturday, December 2 with Christmas Around the World. Take advantage of the unique opportunities in Downtown Kernersville. The Kernersville Museum will be the place to finish your shopping experience by visiting Old St. Nick, yes Santa Clause has us on his list again this year from 1-7 PM! He will ask you if you have visited The Kernersville Depot on North Main Street to pick up your passport. The Holiday passport will be available so that you will not miss anything, and make sure to visit each shop. A full passport means you will be included in the drawing for a $100 gift card. There will be carolers and plenty of opportunity to learn about different traditions from many countries at each shop.

The Frosty 5K is an annual run that many look forward to. The run finishes just before the parade starts on December 3. You can even register the day of the run at 4th of July Park. To register prior to the event or to learn more about the race, please visit www.KernersvilleFrosty5k.com. The cost is $25 in advance and $30 on race day. The race will begin at 2 PM at 4th of July Park. Runners come out to spread holiday cheer as well as meet new friends and work on best times.

The Annual Kernersville Christmas Parade is a tradition for many in and around our community. The parade will begin at 2:30 PM on Sunday, December 3. This year’s parade will not disappoint. Santa has already promised to be on the last float, plus there will be bands, fire trucks, police cruisers and the Kernersville Police Department Bear Cat. There are over 2,000 people participating in the parade with many fun and unique entries. Kids, bring your bags to collect the delicious candy that will be handed out.

Please follow all the events taking place downtown on facebook at Downtown Kernersville. Stay and enjoy the holidays in our great community. We look forward to seeing you all season long.
