Plan a Simple, Fun Summer for Your Kids

By Heather Wood

I am always down to cozy up on the couch during the winter months to watch a flick. But there is just something about a classic movie under the stars and a warm evening that go together so well. With summer breezing in, now is the perfect time to start planning a movie night with a few friends.

Movies in the Park are a free outdoor movie series in Harmon Park, centrally located in downtown Kernersville. The mission of Movies in the Park is help foster a sense of community and enjoyment in downtown by bringing people together to enjoy a movie in a unique setting. Since its debut, Kernersville Parks and Recreation has always believed that Movies in the Park should be free and open to everyone. We are grateful to all our sponsors because without their generosity, Movies in the Park would not be possible.

This month’s featured film will be the newly released, Beauty and the Beast. If you choose not to bring your own picnic we do have food vendors available for sale. So, round up the kids, spread out your blanket, take advantage of our affordable snacks, and enjoy a fun-filled movie under the stars! All movies begin at dusk, but arrive early to visit with vendors, grab a goodie bag, and participate in activities for the kids.
