Bringing new life into the world should be an exciting and joyful moment. Yet statistically speaking, 50% of pregnancies happen unexpectedly, which often leaves women feeling fearful and anxious due to the lack of resources and support available to them. That is where Image Clear Ultrasound of Northwest North Carolina is stepping in to fill the gap.

In October 2020, Image Clear Ultrasound Mobile Clinic started serving in Kernersville, Winston-Salem, and Mount Airy. Women who step on board the mobile clinic can receive lab-quality urine pregnancy testing, options counseling, and limited obstetrical ultrasounds by a licensed clinician. “We want to help women and couples in the midst of their crisis by providing these free services and also connect them with other community resources,” said Mobile Operation Manager, Carmen Miller. 

The mobile unit features a state-of-the-art ultrasound exam room; a clean, private bathroom; and a separate seating area with an additional ultrasound monitor for any family members, friends, or significant others who accompany the clients. The staff at the Mobile Clinic stresses that they are there to offer confidential and compassionate care in a non-judgmental and non-coercive environment.  “Ultimately, we want every woman and couple who steps on the unit to feel at ease,” said Carmen.

One recent client said, “The staff was so friendly and helpful. They made me feel very comfortable and provided a lot of useful information.” And yet another client commented that they loved the availability of the ultrasound service and it was easy to receive the care they needed.
