Parks Chevrolet Spring Folly

Be a part of the largest street festival in the state when thousands of people come to Kernersville to make history the first full weekend in May!

Spring Folly has been a Kernersville staple for years.  Now in its 22nd year, the Folly is being recognized as a Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Festival in the entire Southeastern United States.  That is a huge honor for the festival and for Kernersville!  Spring Folly also gives back to the community through the Kernersville Foundation, providing a percentage of its earnings to the Foundation to go toward efforts to better the community.

The three day festival takes over the heart of Downtown Kernersville from North Main Street stretching into West Mountain Street down South Main Street and into East Mountain Street.   Also, Harmon Park is the main area for carnival rides that the kids will love.  Don’t miss the great food hosted by our civic groups at the Main Stage Area near the library.

Every year, this festival brings groups from all over the United States to perform right here in Kernersville.  From Jazz to Blues and Christian to Soft Rock, we have it all.  This year, there will be performances by Cole Vosbury, runner up from The Voice 2013, and The Legacy is back for our enjoyment!  There will be many great musical groups on the stages all weekend.  Christian groups will be plentiful at the Harmon Park stage along with a headliner act on both Friday and Saturday evening.  Up and coming local groups will be performing on the North Main Stage and music will start at 6pm Friday night including The Legacy.  Cole Vosbury will perform Saturday evening so come eat delicious food while you enjoy the live music!

Activities for kids and adults alike keep everyone entertained at each turn.  The Gravity Ball, Rock Climbing Wall, the Nationwide NASCAR Simulator, and balloons from the YMCA will provide lots of fun on North Main Street.  Be sure to visit the numerous arts and crafts vendors also on North Main.

This year Hughes Street will be home to the Tractor Show.  Tractors from all decades will be in attendance.  Don’t miss the kid’s tractor pull after lunch!  This is a fun event that any child can participate in, mini tractors will be provided.

West Mountain Street has been home to the Community Performance Stage, where local groups perform amazing shows.  The Petting Zoo and Pony Rides will be on West Mountain at the Square this year.  The East Mountain Street area presents commercial vendors from all over and hosts the Classic Car Show.

Carnival rides in Harmon Park are for any age as well as a tasty array of fair food.  Or stop by the Main Stage area for great food from our civic organizations, as well.

Pop up entertainment will be where you least expect it; from Super Hero’s to Cloggers, to flash mobs and even a steel drummer, there are many opportunities for capturing smiles and creating family memories.

If you have ever been to Spring Folly you know it is an extremely fun weekend for the entire family.  For the first time in history you can share your Folly “selfies” and memories using #kvillespringfolly2014.  What an exciting way to share your experiences from the weekend!

Back by popular demand is the Dixieland Jazz Jam Session at the Gazebo at Harmon Park.  There are so many things to highlight it is hard to list them all.  Watch for the tabloid to come out in the Kernersville News on Tuesday, April 29 listing the schedule of #kvillespringfolly2014.
