Downtown Trick or Treat is Back in Kernersville

By Molly Smith

Do you remember the Downtown Trick or Treat that was supposed to take place in 2019? Unfortunately, a hurricane hit Downtown Kernersville and all of the fun things that the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce and Kernersville Parks and Recreation had planned were canceled. Costume contests, live music, mock jail with the Kernersville Police Department and candy pick up from the Kernersville Fire Department were all on the docket and pushed back to 2020.

Of course, with the unprecedented year we had in 2020 we converted the Halloween event into a Downtown “Drive-Thru” Trick or Treat complete with hundreds of cars and interactive decor. Downtown businesses had the opportunity to see some familiar faces and make connections with citizens while vendors set up tables to be a part of a large community event. While we considered the event a success, it did not quite have the same feel of gathering and excitement that we are all used to.

The Kernersville Chamber of Commerce and Kernersville Parks and Recreation are excited to announce that this year the annual Downtown Trick or Treat is back! Join us on October 31st from 6 pm to 8 pm in Downtown Kernersville for a night filled with trick or treating, live music, a costume contest and so much more.

This will be an awesome opportunity for you to include the entire family for a safe and fun trick or treating experience. Roads will be closed to ensure additional safety. Hope to see you there and dressed in your favorite costume! Follow Downtown Kernersville on Facebook or visit www.KernersvilleNC.com for more information.
