United to Serve You Better

Mitchell, Bartlett, and Bell Orthodontics has been a trusted name in the Kernersville area for over 15 years. Dr. Kelly Mitchell first began seeing patients on East Mountain Street in 2005 with a small, dedicated staff. As the community grew, so too did the practice. Dr. Brian Bartlett joined Dr. Mitchell in 2007, and the practice relocated to its current location in Forsyth Medical Park on Broad Street. Drs. Mitchell and Bartlett enjoyed becoming a part of the fabric of the town of Kernersville, participating in community festivals and contributing to the schools through dental education presentations and sponsorships. In 2015, Dr. Carrie Bell joined the practice and helped elevate the level of service through her positive energy and expertise in high-tech advances in orthodontics. Throughout the years of continued growth, the mission of Mitchell, Bartlett and Bell has remained the same: to provide patients with personalized, quality care in a comfortable and warm environment. This January, Mitchell, Bartlett and Bell Orthodontics are taking an exciting step forward by merging with the office of Dr. Bruce Burns, DDS, MS.

“When I came to Kernersville, the whole community knew Dr. Burns as their orthodontist,” says Dr. Bartlett. “Dr. Burns’ reputation has always been very high, and now this opportunity has presented itself for us to merge with his practice. It is a great opportunity for us for that reason.” Having practiced in Kernersville for over 35 years, Dr. Burns is indeed a treasured part of the Kernersville community, and he will add valuable experience to the combined practice. Dr. Burns was drawn to the field of orthodontics during his time serving as a dentist in the United States Public Health Service Corps. He quickly went on to complete his orthodontics residency at The Ohio State University and has enjoyed practicing ever since. He says his favorite part of being an orthodontist is interacting with patients, and he plans to keep serving the community for a long time. “I am really looking forward to practicing with Mitchell, Bartlett, and Bell,” says Dr. Burns, “I think it is going to bring a level of care up a notch. I think there is going to be good synergy between our two offices. I am not going anywhere, because this is exciting to me; I want to be part of it.”

Beginning the first of January, the combined offices will be seeing all patients in Dr. Burns’ current building at 210 Broad Street in Kernersville. Patients of both offices can count on the same level of care and friendly faces that they have been accustomed to for many years. “It is still going to be the same comfortable, friendly atmosphere they are used to,” says Dr. Bell. “We all feel strongly about offering patients the best care possible, and by merging we are bringing together a lot of experience, a lot of excitement, and a team that is really involved in the community. We feel that by merging these two great teams we can offer the people in Kernersville the best care.” Patients can look forward to greater convenience in the form of extended hours and more doctor availability, in addition to the same quality of products and services they are accustomed to. “One thing that we and Dr. Burns really prioritize is the patient relationship, and so I think that by merging with a practice that is similarly focused it really is not going to feel different to our patients. It is going to be a continuation of what they are already used to,” says Dr. Bartlett. “I don’t know that we could necessarily merge with any other practice and expect to have such a successful transition like we do in this case.”

In addition to Drs. Bartlett, Bell, and Burns, Dr. Mitchell will continue to provide her expertise and quality patient care. Outside of the practice, she has taken on an exciting and prestigious role as the Director of Clinical Education for the Orthodontic Residency Program at UNC Chapel Hill. Taking on this new academic opportunity will allow Dr. Mitchell to bring her knowledge of the most up to date research and cutting edge technology to the practice.
