Staying healthy, living well…that is all we want, is it not? How easy would it be if life did not get in the way of all the things we would like to do for ourselves? The Healthy Living Expo of products and services sponsored by CoreLife Novant Health Kernersville may be just what you are looking for!
As an adult, “living well” can mean a lot of different things:
Nutrition plays a vital role in self-care. Whether you are in the beginning stages of eating well or if good nutrition is a priority now, you will appreciate the information provided by our nutrition businesses. You will get answers to common questions, learn about the world’s healthiest food options, find healthy recipes to make, and improve your health as your knowledge grows by leaps and bounds. Ready to ‘dig’ in?
Some research says to exercise every day; other research says fitness should be three times a week with vigorous activity. An effective and healthy workout has several components, including a warm-up, stretching, cardio, resistance training, and a cool-down. But, no matter what you choose, the key to staying fit is to keep moving. A sedentary lifestyle (sitting still) is something that our bodies can get used to very quickly. Moving does not have to be strenuous or hard on your body. We have the best businesses ready to empower you and help get you started on your physical fitness journey.
Getting better sleep does not just improve your morning mood, it boosts your health. Good sleep is one of the pillars of good health, along with exercising regularly and eating right. Indeed, you cannot achieve optimal health without being fully rested every night. Everyone has ideal hours of sleep that their bodies need. If it is six hours that you need, make sure to get six hours every night no matter what. The average is seven to nine hours of sleep each night. Sometimes this is not possible, so small power naps may be necessary for the days when you did not get the full rest you desired.
Organization & Balance:
Keeping life organized often feels like a juggling act. Everything is on task and working great one minute, and then next you just want to throw your hands up in the air! Instead of throwing life’s tasks in the air in hopes you will somehow manage to catch them all, follow a framework to keep every area of your life in order. Learning how to properly deal with problems, challenges, or hurdles is something that we all need to work on. The Healthy Living Expo will help guide you to organizing and balancing your life – and keep it that way. Hopefully, you will leave the Expo knowing how to balance your life across all areas that are important to you: relationships, finances, health and fitness, business, school, work, and at home. If we are healthy and grounded then our relationships benefit and so do we. Less juggling, more living.
Regular check-ups with our primary care physician are very important. In the times of WebMD and zoom appointments, we do not have the opportunity to sit down and have a face-to-face conversation with our physician. Take the time to do this at least once a year. Records are an important part of your medical history.
Keeping up with responsibilities is just one more thing on a list we could go on and on about. Knowing that we have a solid foundation assists in balancing our everyday responsibilities. We all have those things that come up and try to rock our world.
The above are just some components to staying healthy. At the Healthy Living Expo, there will be screenings, informational booths, food, entertainment, etc. on all things healthy living.
