The days of summer are upon us and there is no better way to spend these days than by supporting your community! Walking through such a historic town on a Saturday can be magical and downright relaxing. Whether it is learning about the history, shopping, eating, or walking through the car show there is something for everyone. These events are a great way to enjoy the beautiful Kernersville community and downtown shops.

Sidewalk Saturdays take place every second Saturday of the month starting in June and going until October. Starting at 10am, begin walking down the sidewalks of Kernersville and shop all the available deals and discounts. The sidewalks are filled with beautiful window décor that allows only a glimpse of what is inside. There are an endless number of products and services for you to buy and experience.

If you are a history fanatic, you will find the Kernersville Museum in Downtown Kernersville with exhibits that any age will enjoy. Also, visiting Körner’s Folly, a one-of-a-kind home built in 1880 by Jules Körner, our town’s founder. It is now a museum for the public to visit and learn more about the town and the interesting place he called home.

When it is time for a break from shopping and touring, check out some of our parks for a relaxing time with the whole family. Harmon Park is located on the South end of Main Street behind the Kernersville Little Theatre, it was Kernersville’s first town park and still remains one of its most popular. Founder’s Park in located in Downtown Kernersville where the old School’s Tool building was. Lastly, located in The Factory is a beautiful and relaxing courtyard where you can sit and enjoy a meal while admiring the beautiful architecture of the building.

After all the exploring and shopping you will work up an appetite. Eating in Kernersville offers a variety of tasty options to satisfy anyone. There is an assortment of cuisine to choose from including ice cream, Italian ice, baked goods, pretzels, burgers, subs, and sandwiches. You could even go for a gourmet Italian dish or fine dining experience.

Each Sidewalk Saturday ends with the Classic Car Cruise-In. Bring out your inner car lover and admire over one hundred classic cars in Downtown Kernersville.

Join us for Sidewalk Saturdays – every second Saturday of the month, June through October. Shop from 10am to 2pm, eat and relax from 2pm to 4pm and enjoy the cruise in from 4pm to 7pm. We cannot wait to see you this summer!
