Annual Triad Job Fair

Are you just starting your career?  Changing careers?  Or, maybe you are just looking for a fresh start?  The Kernersville Chamber of Commerce is bringing area businesses together for the annual Triad Job Fair—a free event that will showcase companies and career opportunities within the community.  The job fair will be held on February 17 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at First Christian Church, located at 1130 N. Main Street in Kernersville.

The Triad Job Fair attracts over a thousand people each year.  This is a great venue for those seeking employment with both large and small businesses with job openings.

Currently the unemployment rate in North Carolina is 7.4%.  The economy, in general, is projecting global economic growth in 2014.  However, here in North Carolina, we are behind the national average in job creation.

A job goes beyond just earning a living.  It is a place to share talents, build new skills, and set and reach goals.  When applying for a job—make sure to seek job opportunities that fit both your skill set and interests.  Have an updated resume.  Resumes are important to tell your story.  Include your work history, talents, education, and any professional groups of which you are a member.  What you wear and how you present yourself are also important in the interview process.  When talking with a company representative—be yourself.  This is your time to shine.

The Triad Job Fair has been around for many years and began in collaboration between the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce and First Christian Church.  First Christian Church continues to partner with us to bring many opportunities to those that are looking for a job or job change.  Free workshops and resources are also available.  Last year, Crystal Tanner invited large businesses to be part of this event.  That will be the case again this year as large businesses in the area have job openings.  Participating employers include: Adecco, Alert Construction, Best Logistics, Caterpillar, Deere Hitachi, Dixon Custom Cabinetry, Forsyth Public Library, Forsyth County Sherriff’s Office, Forsyth Technical Community College, Graham Personnel Services, Herbalife, Kernersville Parks & Recreation Department, Kernersville Police Department, Modern Woodmen of America, Nationwide Insurance, NC Commerce Division of Workforce Solutions, Remodeling & Repair, and the Job Link bus will be in attendance.

The list of businesses looking to hire new employees covers a wide range of interests and skill sets.  Dress for success, bring your resume, and come excited to learn about so many opportunities at one time.  You never know who you may meet at the Triad Job Fair.

The Triad Job Fair is sponsored by Carolina Temporary Staffing.  Kelly Office Solutions will be there to assist with your copying needs.  Tune in to KOOL 1140AM and 99.9FM to hear more.
