How the Chamber is Gathering Resources During these Unprecedented Times

By Molly Smith, Marketing Director of Programs and Downtown

The Kernersville Chamber of Commerce has taken no break during the COVID-19 stay at home orders that were issued. Staff has been working from the safety of home and attending webinars to help their members and the community navigate these new waters, participating in conference calls to make progressive steps forward as well as learn from the experts in every scenario. The following are all available on the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce website (www.kernersvillenc.com) and are subject to change as we gain new information and updates.

Restaurants in our area have been heavily impacted in their average day to day operations. Takeout, curbside service and delivery has become the new normal in the Kernersville area when wanting to enjoy a meal “out.” The Kernersville Chamber created the Takeout Blitz as an opportunity to showcase every single restaurant in the area and communicate how they are making themselves available. Within two days of launching the Takeout Blitz, we had over 30 participating restaurants and some are still updating information on a weekly basis. Head on over to see how you and your family can still support our area restaurants!

Similar to the Takeout Blitz, the Chamber wanted to give local businesses the opportunity to showcase how they are navigating their new normal. Businesses have input their operations to allow the community to find ways to continue to support them-everything from online ordering, social media outlets, curbside pick-up for shopping, etc. Be sure to check out this tab on the website and to let your local business owners know about the pages that are linked to offer their updates.

The Chamber has been collecting resources pertinent to small businesses including the Paycheck Protection Program, small business grants and even hosting a Small Business Development Series all geared towards “Marketing Your Business in Kernersville.” Chamber member businesses have also stepped up to provide free resources to their neighbors during this time, and you can visit an updated list at: kernersvillenc.com/small-business-resources

Our community members have had a lot thrown at them lately, and we here at the Chamber have done our best to make sure they can get up-to-date information regarding the health community. This tab on our website includes everything from direct links to the recent Governor’s Executive Orders, guides on how to navigate the executive orders, and information about accessible PPE in our town.
