Benefits of Chamber Membership

By Molly Smith

A lot of businesses are experiencing a new “normal” and different operations throughout the day. The Kernersville Chamber of Commerce is no different. With weekly staff meetings because half of us are working from home and navigating tough decisions, this time has given us a lot to think about for our membership of various businesses and how we can better support them.

In the spirit of one day being able to get back to normal, we thought that this would be a good month to reiterate the benefits of Chamber membership to our community:

  1. Ribbon Cutting – If you are a new business in Kernersville or you have recently joined the Chamber, we would love to celebrate you! Let us know and we are happy to schedule it for you. We invite town dignitaries, other Chamber members, our Board of Directors and even our staff comes along. You get to talk about your business and inform those present about your mission and answer any questions they may have. Those who attend are seen as some of our biggest ambassadors–and your picture will be featured in the local newspaper.
  2. Networking – We host hundreds of networking opportunities each year. Everything from the previously mentioned ribbon cuttings to Business Before Hours, Business After Hours and Lunch with Leaders are chances for our members to network with others in their community to gain strong ties in their fields. These events span from morning to night, and even virtual, to allow everybody the chance to network with those around them. We will even provide the coffee.
  3. Committees – The Chamber hosts various committees including Women in Business, Downtown, Business Affairs, Governmental Affairs and even a Music at Twilight committee. Our volunteers are our biggest assets, and we firmly believe that being involved on a committee can allow you to gain numerous connections and add to your professional resume.
  4. Celebrations – We love to celebrate with our members! We host various events throughout the year to spread the positivity in Kernersville such as Business of the Month presentations and our Annual Business Awards Banquet. Some smaller events such as our Volunteer Appreciation Day are also anticipated for its free popsicle giveaways in front of our building!
