Spring Fever!

By Heather Wood

If you are like me, you eagerly count down the days until that first walk around the neighborhood in early to mid-spring. When the dogwoods bloom, the scent of honeysuckle envelops us, and the nights seem to get a bit longer. That is the time I get excited for a new season! It is good to change up your habits once it is warmer outside so you can enjoy spending more time outdoors. There are lots of spring activities to explore outside during this time of year. You might be surprised at what your community has to offer and the things you can discover.

Kernersville Parks and Recreation (KPRD) has a great spring and summer filled with programs and activities for you and your family!

Each year, families gather for our summer screenings with a family-friendly movie on a huge inflatable screen. Our first film for the season will be, Trolls World Tour, and will be held on Friday, May 21. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax, and arrive early to enjoy a food truck and local vendors before the show. Movies begin at sunset, so start times may vary. This event is free and open to the public but pre-registration is required to follow COVID guidelines. For full updated details visit our Facebook page.

If you are a fan of our movies, you will love Music in the Park!
