Julia Place and Kayla Williams were both born and raised in Kernersville, and both attended East Forsyth High School. They worked hard to get their CNA licenses and graduate early from school. In 2021 they both attended Esthetician School, where they met and began talking about their dreams for the future. “We instantly became super close friends and talked about this for the future,” say Julia and Kayla. “We decided to go for it and make it happen and now we could not be more grateful.” While they were still in school, Julia and Kayla worked together to transform their 1200 square foot salon into a fresh space, including updating the flooring, painting, and decorating each room. After three months of working late nights, weekends, and throughout their summer days, Julia and Kayla hosted LashandOut’s grand opening on August 1, 2021. They also completed Esthetician school and were licensed through the state board. Over the last ten months, they have helped many women save time in their daily routines as busy moms, managers, and hard workers with their beauty services. “We love what we do and making people and women more confident in their own skin is what gives us the drive and motivation,” say Julia and Kayla.

Julia, 19 years old, and Kayla, 20 years old, are living examples of how following your dreams is about hard work and dedication and does not have to be limited by age or other factors that often hold us back. Both ladies continue to work hard to provide their customers with the best beauty services possible, keeping their salon open 6 days a week. They love to travel whenever they are not at work and are excited to be doing what they love. Currently, their three-room salon has one room open for another beauty provider, massage therapist, or hair stylist who wants to join their growing business. “We are happy to have brought these beauty services into the growing town of Kernersville for our clients,” say Julia and Kayla. “We are so thankful for all the support and clients we have received. We could not have imagined being so booked up this fast, so we want to make sure everyone is pre-booking their appointments so that everyone has a spot.”
