Seeing is believing.  Since August 2010, the doctors and staff of Kernersville Eye Surgeons have been helping people in our community overcome eye problems and provide skillful, attentive surgical eye care to patients with clear results.

Working harmoniously with local optometry offices, award winning ophthalmologists Dr. Patrick Hageman, MD and Dr. Greer Geiger, MD along with their staff, provide comprehensive eye care to patients who need treatment for: cataracts, glaucoma, diseases of the retina, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, eye injuries, dry eyes, and various other eye conditions.

Dr. Hageman specializes in cataract surgery and treatment of a wide range of eye conditions.  He is specially trained in advanced cataract surgery techniques and is one of only a few surgeons performing laser assisted cataract surgery in the Triad.  In addition, Dr. Hageman is trained in a number of surgical procedures to treat many conditions affecting the eye such as glaucoma, droopy eyelids, and others.  He received his MD from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and completed his medical internship at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, D.C.  Following military service, Dr. Hageman completed his ophthalmology training at the Storm Eye Institute, Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.  “I have always been interested in the blend of clinical and surgical medicine found in the specialty of ophthalmology,” states Hageman, “and many diseases manifest in the eye, so as ophthalmologists, we are sometimes the first to diagnose systemic diseases such as diabetes or hypertension.”

Dr. Geiger, a retina specialist, works with patients to diagnose and treat many diseases of the retina and vitreous.  She treats many well-known conditions such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, retina detachments, and many others.  She received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Geiger completed her fellowship in retina/uveitis at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation in LaJolla, California and in vitreo-retinal surgery at the Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore, Maryland.  Dr. Geiger is trained to perform a number of retinal procedures performed in the clinic and hospital setting which can be performed right here in Kernersville.

Part of providing excellent patient based care includes being in a space able to allow for a growing office and patient base.  After a successful four years in their location on Broad Street here in Kernersville, being a continued part of the community was important to Dr. Hageman and his staff.  As they began looking for a place to expand, a location in historic Downtown Kernersville came into their line of sight.  “We looked at the available commercial places, and on a whim we happened to check out this available space here at The Factory, and it happened to be the exact size we were looking for,” said Dr. Hageman, “and even though it is not very traditional for a medical office to be located in a mixed use space like The Factory, it just seemed really ideal: plenty of parking, our own entrance, and a really nice environment overall.”  Patients and their family can enjoy a variety of amenities while waiting, including a beautiful courtyard with access to shopping and dining nearby.

“People in Kernersville are proud of their community, and they do not want to go anywhere else.  I am happy that I am able to offer my patients the service of having evaluations, treatment and surgery here, with the availability of our new expanded space,” says Dr. Hageman.

Kernersville Eye Surgeons welcomes you to visit them at their new location in The Factory in historic Downtown Kernersville.  The office is located at 210 North Main Street, Suite 144 (parking is available right outside of the office with access from Beard Street).  Call their office at 336-992-9637 or visit their website: www.KernersvilleEyeSurgeons.com for more information.
