The East Forsyth Band Boosters, in partnership with Dewey’s Bakery, opened a Holiday Store in Kernersville on November 14. This is the second year they have made the store available to the Kernersville community for the holiday season. By shopping at the Dewey’s Kernersville store, you not only find great gift ideas but you support East Forsyth band students. It is a wonderful opportunity for the students and for you as you work to check off items on your shopping list.

Gift items available in the store will include time-honored favorites such as Moravian Sugar Cake and Cookies as well as numerous flavors of cheese straws, “Tins Under $10,” and the “Gifts Under $5” collection. Also featured will be the traditional Moravian Stars which offers beautiful decoration for years to come.

“The store provides a great way for shoppers to support their community while providing a convenient location to shop for locally made holiday treats,” said BJ Frentzel, Vice President of Operations at Dewey’s Bakery. “The band boosters raised an outstanding amount of much-needed funds last year, and we are excited to work with them again this year to raise even more.”

According to Greg Murphy, Director of Bands at East Forsyth High School, “We are excited to open a Holiday Store again this year. With the major success of last year’s store, we were able to repair and re-wrap our band trailer, repair and purchase several new instruments, and we are in the process of purchasing new flooring for the band room. In addition, we were able to hire clinicians to enhance the skills of our musicians for the entire band program. As always, we feel privileged to share our talents and the gift of music with the Kernersville community.”


The Dewey’s Holiday Store is located in the Kerner Village Shopping Center at 821-K S. Main Street (beside Radio Shack). The store is open through Thursday, December 24 and helps support East Forsyth Band Boosters. Operating hours are Monday – Saturday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. Come by and pick out your favorite holiday snacks for you and your loved ones!
