Jump down the rabbit hole with Kernersville Parks & Recreation into a whimsical tea-time world filled with excitement and colorful creations sure to spark magical moments from one minute to the next! Dance in Dreamland with Dad and Alice in Wonderland at this year’s Father Daughter Dance at First Christian Church in Kernersville on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 6:00-8:30pm! Although the weather may still be cold outside, we have several indoor programs to keep you warm and looking forward to spring! One special group of classes we would like to feature are our Beginners Acrylic Painting classes with instructor, Ms. Barbara Fager, who will foster painting skills with step-by-step demonstrations and instruction in design, color, and application of paints. Join us in creating delightful works of art from beginning-to-end in one (or all!) of our upcoming themed classes which are held from 6:00-9:00pm at the Senior Enrichment Center for Ages 15+.

Do not forget that spring is just around the corner, so it is not too early to start thinking about warm weather programs and athletics. NEW this spring, Kernersville Parks & Recreation will be offering Mentor Tennis Group Lessons for all ages! Join us for 8 weeks and be ready for tennis season with Coach Rod Pearson. Mentor Tennis Ltd., is conducting lessons for beginners and intermediate players every Saturday morning starting March 12th. If you already know how to play the game of tennis and are just looking for a group to get involved with, our Social Tennis Leagues will be starting next month in Fourth of July Park! Looking for ways to keep your kids busy during Spring Break? Our Spring Break Basketball Camp, offered to K-8th graders, provides boys and girls a chance to take their game to the next level by giving them an opportunity to improve their fundamentals. Each age group and all skill levels will have favorable gym time, station work, and team play. Younger campers (K-2nd grade), will be shooting on lower, age appropriate goals. Campers will learn passing, ball handling, rebounding, court spacing, team offense, and defensive skills. Campers will have FUN and gain self-confidence, allowing them to create their own winning formulas on and off the court. Adult Spring Soccer League for Ages 18+

We will offer a 7 v. 7, modified co-ed adult soccer league, with recreation and competitive divisions. The regular season will consist of 10 games, with a single elimination tournament. Games will be held on Sundays at the Bagley Sports Field Complex beginning March 13th.

Adult Softball League for Ages 16+

Join us at the Ivey M. Redmon Sports Complex for one of the largest Adult NSA Sanctioned leagues in the area! All skill levels are offered, and the 10-game schedule will begin March 14th on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights from 6:30-9:30pm. The team registration deadline is February 19.
