Music at Twilight

By Chris Comer

Our town has so much to offer. The “little BIG Town” of Kernersville has something for everyone. Take the big events such as Spring Folly; July 4th Run, Parade and Fireworks; Honeybee Festival; the Christmas Parade, and even the smaller events such as Sidewalk Saturdays, Cruise In’s, Halloween Trick or Treat, and Movies in the Park cater to all interests.

When it comes to summer, music is in the air. The first concerts of the Music at Twilight series presented by The Kernersville Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Novant Health have been very successful. It is a “don’t miss” event in our community.

Music at Twilight is a perfect time to get out and spend your summertime evenings one Thursday a month. It is great for families to come together and listen to some talented artists, have fun, and meet new friends.

We have enjoyed Bluegrass music from the RainCheck Band in May and Beach music by Ronnie Tsuanami and the Wave Riders in June so far in this series. The exciting part is it is all free and everyone is welcome.

There is dancing, food, a bounce house and cornhole for all to enjoy.

  • Bounce House for children – Fun is had by all in a bounce house. This passes the time for the smaller ones that may not be able to sit and listen to the music or that just love to bounce!
  • Cornhole for families, individuals, and children alike. Cornhole is a fun time for everyone and a great way to meet new friends.
  • Food by Giadas for purchase is always popular.
  • Drinks are available for purchase.

So bring out your chairs or quilts and join us:

July 28

Sports Night

Authentic Rock Music by Exit 180 Band

August 11

Back to School Night

Classic Rock with the Radials

The concerts begin at 6 PM and are located at the Town Hall Courtyard, right behind the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce and the Library. There is plenty of shade and area to sit and enjoy the music or if you feel the urge to move, get up and dance with the rest of us.

It is not uncommon to see those of all ages enjoying some food from Giada’s while visiting the vendors. In tents, the vendors have great information and opportunities to win a door prize.

It is not an evening you want to miss. With the July and August concerts yet to come, please plan on joining us. And as always, bring your out of town guests to enjoy our beautiful town and meet the amazing people that make up Kernersville.
