Life is No Fun Without a Good Scare
By Heather Chapman
As the days begin to get shorter and the temperature begins to fall, we have lots of activities for you and your family to enjoy!
Our Summer Movie series may have ended but we have one more seasonal movie to premier at our “Haunted Movie Night!” We will be transforming Harmon Park into a spooky grave yard! The votes are in and the October haunted movie will be the “Nightmare Before Christmas!” Kernersville’s Haunted Movie Night, presented by Ledo’s Pizza, takes place on Friday, October 14. The movie is FREE this year! Be sure to come early if you want to purchase our Nightmare Before Christmas themed event shirt. They will be available while supplies last for $15. The first 100 guests will also receive a haunted goodie bag! There will be food trucks in attendance, so come hungry. We will have Giannos Food truck, The Struggle Bus (serving hot drinks like coffee, apple cider, and hot chocolate), and D&R Sweet Treats bringing caramel apples and all the desserts! It will be spooky, but not scary, we hope to see you there!
In continuing to capture the Halloween spirit, we are also looking forward to co-hosting the Downtown Trick-or-Treat with the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce, Kernersville Police, and Fire Department! Join us on Monday, October 31 from 6 – 8PM through Downtown Kernersville. This is a fantastic alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating. Put on your costume and let the downtown businesses fill your bag with treats! Come out in costume accompanied by an adult for children 13 years old and younger. Watch the streets of downtown become a Halloween haven! The streets will be closed throughout downtown to keep everyone that comes together in a safe environment. Be sure to stop by Haunted Harmon Park and be greeted by ghost and ghouls. Our staff will be there handing out candy to all the visitors.
