We cannot wait to share these magical moments with you and make this holiday season one to remember. Let us come together to celebrate the joy, wonder, and magic of Christmas in Kernersville!
December 7: Blooms to Bell & Christmas Tree Lighting
The holiday magic begins on Saturday, December 7th, with a full day of festive fun, kicking off with Blooms to Bells, a delightful local shopping event. From 5 to 8pm, you can hop on a trolley and ride through Downtown Kernersville, traveling from the Blooms (Gardens) to the Bells (Depot). This event encourages everyone to support our local brick-and-mortar stores while enjoying scenic views of the town. Participating shops will offer holiday specials, and the trolley ride provides a charming way to experience Kernersville’s historic downtown during the most wonderful time of the year.
During the Blooms to Bells event, the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will take place from 6 to 7pm at Town Hall. As you wait for the tree to be illuminated, enjoy delicious hot cocoa and donuts from local vendors to keep warm on the crisp December evening.
During the event, enjoy live performances of choirs and musicians from Kernersville’s schools and community organizations, filling the air with joyful holiday tunes. The cheerful music and performances are sure to add to the cozy, family-friendly atmosphere, making this a memorable event for all who attend.
This cherished tree lighting event is sponsored by the Town of Kernersville Parks and Recreation, and they are proud to continue the tradition of bringing the community together to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season. The Christmas Tree Lighting is a symbol of the joy, warmth, and camaraderie that defines Christmas in Kernersville, and we hope to see everyone there to share this special tradition.
Spectacular Blooms
The holiday enchantment continues with the Spectacular Blooms event at the Paul J Ciener Botanical Garden. This breathtaking display features hundreds of lights twinkling throughout the garden, creating a magical, serene atmosphere. The event runs from 5 to 8pm and offers a perfect opportunity for families and friends to take a peaceful stroll through the illuminated garden and experience the quiet beauty of the season.
The Spectacular Blooms event will also run, only on weekends, from November 29th through December 29th, so if you cannot make it on December 7th, you will have other opportunities to visit.
Additionally, part of this year’s Trolley ride, a stop at the Kernersville Museum will be ice skating! Thanks to the support of local scout groups and sponsors, a pop-up skating rink will bring holiday cheer and fun for all ages. It is a great way to spend time with family and friends while supporting a good cause and celebrating Kernersville’s vibrant holiday spirit.
December 8: Kernersville Christmas Parade
The Kernersville Christmas Parade is one of the most anticipated events of the holiday season, bringing together the community for an afternoon of festive fun and celebration. Scheduled for Sunday, December 8th, the parade will wind through the streets of downtown Kernersville, featuring beautifully decorated floats, marching bands, local businesses, and, of course, an appearance from Santa Claus himself! Families and friends gather along the parade route (Mountain Street) to enjoy the holiday spirit, with children excitedly waving to the performers and catching candy.
Holiday Events at Körner’s Folly
No holiday season in Kernersville would be complete without a visit to Körner’s Folly, one of our town’s most iconic landmarks. This year, Körner’s Folly will host its Candlelight Tours on December 7th and December 20th, with additional candlelight events from November 26th through December 2nd. The historic house will be beautifully decorated for the season, and the warm glow of candles will illuminate its unique architecture and holiday décor.
Walking through the halls of Körner’s Folly, visitors can step back in time and experience the magic of a Victorian Christmas. The Candlelight Tours are a must-see during the holiday season, offering a glimpse into Kernersville’s history while embracing the festive spirit that makes this time of year so special.
