Protecting Our Hometown
By Amber Mabe
Autumn is a time of gathering. Whether it be the gathering of a bountiful harvest or the gathering of family and friends within the warmth and safety of our homes, it is traditionally a time of thankfulness and reflection on the things we value most in our lives. No one likes to think about the possibility of losing anything precious to them, but North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance exists to do everything possible to take care of you and your loved ones when the unexpected happens.
Dating back to 1953, NC Farm Bureau Insurance was formed by the leaders of the NC Farm Bureau Federation. Though initially created to provide coverage for farmers, throughout the years they have expanded to offer coverage to anyone in the community looking for an honest, locally based insurance provider. The organization remains true to its roots in supporting agriculture. Founded by farmers in 1936, North Carolina Farm Bureau Federation is a non-profit organization with a mission to advocate for farmers and rural communities. In all 100 counties they are dedicated to helping and improving the communities in which we live and work. They offer scholarships to college students, donate books, and offer grants to local teachers, as well as providing many other member benefits including discounts on hotels, rental vehicles, and of course, the valuable and affordable insurance products they offer. “As a branch of the NC Farm Bureau, supporting farmers is an important part of what we do,” says Justin Fulp, Agency Manager of the Kernersville office. “Local agriculture is important and deserves our support.”
As a multi-line insurance agency, NC Farm Bureau Insurance offers policies for nearly any insurance need. Auto, home, life, and even health insurance can be neatly bundled under one roof and into one competitively priced payment, taking the pressure off clients to piece together the coverage they need from multiple agencies. “We pretty much do it all, which is a benefit to our clients because it creates a one stop shop for everything they need,” says Justin. “It is very rare that we come across something that we don’t offer, but when that does happen, we are able to work through a brokerage to meet our clients’ needs most of the time.”
This commitment to serving clients in a personal way begins with the very first meeting with any potential customer and is part of what sets NC Farm Bureau Insurance apart from other agencies. Justin says the first priority in serving a client is sitting down with them and learning what is most important to them. “What is important to me might not be the same thing that is important to you,” he explains. “For us, it’s about having an interest in each person’s desires rather than policy pushing. We never try to convince anyone to buy coverage for something that isn’t a priority for them.”

A desire to help others is what first drew Justin to insurance as a career. Watching the way others in his family were able to serve their clients through their work at NC Farm Bureau Insurance, Justin came to understand the impact that mindful and trustworthy insurance agencies could have on a person’s life and peace of mind. “For me, it is less of a job and more of a calling. It’s about taking care of people and connecting with people,” says Justin. “No one likes to pay for insurance, but when you understand its purpose and the vital role it plays if something happens, you realize that what we are doing is really important.” As manager of the Kernersville office, Justin works with a team of agents, associate agents, and office staff, who all share his vision of caring for each client as if they were family. As a locally based company, NC Farm Bureau Insurance has deep ties to the surrounding community, serving Kernersville residents by providing affordable insurance, but also through community events and supporting local organizations. “Our team is proud to be a part of Kernersville Farm Bureau because this is our hometown,” says Justin. “We live here, we work here, and we eat at the same place you do for lunch. This is what we know best.” As Justin and his team serve their family and friends across the Kernersville area, they are committed to arriving personally on the scene of home disasters, swiftly resolving auto claims to get clients back on the road, compassionately working through estate planning, and grieving with clients over the loss of loved ones while tirelessly working to deliver the funds set up to provide for the family left behind. It is no wonder that NC Farm Bureau Insurance has inspired generations of customer loyalty and has been rated the #1 auto insurance provider in the nation for 5 years running by the Crash Network, and very highly rated by Forbes as well.
So what does switching to NC Farm Bureau Insurance look like? The process is much simpler than you may think. Justin and his team are always excited to sit down with potential clients and do whatever they can to help others understand their coverage. This confidential insurance review is free and can be easily scheduled by calling the office or booking online. A local agent will personally take time to review your current policies, which can be sent ahead via mail or email to save time during your consultation, and go over them with you to see where you might have gaps in coverage, outdated policies, or areas where you could be saving money. Justin and his team take all the frustration out of switching, adjusting, or drawing up new policies, by taking care of all the details in order to make the process as easy as possible for their clients. “At the end of the day, we are truly taking care of peoples’ livelihood,” says Justin, “I want to make that as accessible and easy to understand as possible.”
It is never a bad time to take a serious look at protecting the things that matter most to you, but now may be a better time than ever to consider NC Farm Bureau Insurance. With open enrollment for health insurance happening now, Justin and his team are eager to help you evaluate your needs and understand your options as we move into the next year.
