The Faces behind Kernersville Parks and Recreation

The Kernersville Parks and Recreation Department offers our community open areas and parks for play, special events, youth and adult programs, sports leagues and tournaments, inclusive programming and more!

We would like to introduce you to our friendly, knowledgeable administration staff for the new Recreation & Events Center. They are here to help you and your family find fun things to do in our town!

Ernie Pages
CPRP Director

Ernie Pages has been with the Town for 22 years. He graduated from Catawba College with a degree in Recreation Administration. Since coming to Kernersville, he has pushed to make the department modernized, innovative, and an economic contributor to the community.

Cady Ray
CPR Recreation Superintendent

Cady has been with the Town of Kernersville for almost 8 years and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Communications. Cady oversees the Recreation Division of the department and works closely with staff in all areas to ensure the community has a quality experience. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, as well as her favorite pup, Russell.


Adam Carpenter
Recreation Facility Manager

Adam has been with the Town for 13 years. He held the position as Athletic Coordinator and was recently promoted to his new role as the Recreation Facility Manager. Adam handles all sports rentals including the outdoor fields and the new indoor Kernersville Recreation + Event Center. He is excited to bring more tourism to Kernersville with the travel tournaments that will be hosted in our new Recreation Center.

Ashley Sinclair
Recreation & Events Manager

Ashley comes with a background in sports, marketing, and business. Most recently, she held a role with the Kernersville Chamber of Commerce. Through this experience she has fostered meaningful connections, supported local businesses, and contributed to events that enhance our community and quality of life. She has always been passionate about creating opportunities that bring people together and drive community engagement. She is excited about her new role with us and the opportunity to combine her professional experiences with a new focus on recreation and community programming.

Heather Chapman
Programming & Marketing Coordinator

Heather has a background in Marketing and holds a degree from UNCG. She handles the Youth & Adult Programming and also Marketing for Corporate & Special Events. She has been with the Town for 15 years! Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and one year old daughter. She is excited to see the program opportunities grow and continuing to forge relationships with businesses in our community.

Carlie Reed
MS / CTRS Adaptive & Inclusion Coordinator

Carlie brings with her many years of experience working with other municipalities. I like to read, hike, and just be outside with my family. I have a 2.5 year old daughter and two dogs that keep me on my toes. I am really looking forward to all the opportunities the new Recreation and Event Center will bring to Kernersville! This is a big win for the community, and will bring people together through the many recreation and leisure opportunities that the Center will provide.

Brandon Bullins
MS Athletic Coordinator

Brandon graduated from Methodist University with a master’s degree in Sports Management. In his new position, Brandon is excited to create and maintain new and existing athletic programs with the parks department. He is thankful to be a part of a great team of co-workers and hopes to create an exciting environment for all athletic participants.

Justyn Wilson
Athletic Coordinator

Justyn is a recent graduate of East Carolina with a degree in Sport Studies and minor in Parks and Recreation Management. He has an unwavering passion for sports. He is excited for this opportunity to further develop his skills and contribute to the community, and build meaningful connections. He is eager to bring his enthusiasm and experience to this role, promoting active lifestyles, fostering teamwork, and creating programs that enrich the lives of participants of all ages.

Victoria Musumeci
CPR Recreation Administrative Specialist

Vicky is passionate about making a positive impact in the world of parks and recreation! She holds a degree in Parks & Recreation from UNCG and has a personal investment in creating environments for young people to explore the world of sports. Vicky played volleyball in college and still enjoys playing. Outside of work, she also enjoys crafting, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband.

Heidi Tufte
Customer Experience Specialist

Heidi is the first one to greet you when entering our Recreation + Event Center. She has exceptional customer service and is ready to answer any questions you may have about our facility. She is also handling our shelter reservations.

Chad Sapp
Recreation Center Attendant

Chad has spent the past 29 years as a high school math teacher with the WS/Forsyth County School System. During his time with the school system, he also coached football, wrestling, track, women’s soccer, men’s lacrosse, and worked a few years as an Athletic Director. He has a wealth of knowledge in our recreation world and his outgoing personality will be a great asset when welcoming new and returning participants to our building.
